You can find me in my healthy girl era all 2023. I shared my fitness journey on social media last year and how I not only lost weight, but became the healthiest, strongest version of myself. There was a lot that went into this, so I wanted to share a few tips and resources in case you too are entering into your healthy girl era.
Let me start off by saying, there’s always a lot of pressure and chatter surrounding weight loss at the beginning of the year. I don’t like that. Let’s focus on our overall health and the kind of people we want to be when, God willing, we are 70-80 years old. I want to be strong. I want to be sharp. I want to be able to get around on my own. I want to feel healthy and enjoy my days. What about you?
5 Things I Did To Jumpstart My Healthy Girl Era
- Lift heavy weights
- Reduced alcohol consumption significantly
- Increased my non-exercise activity by walking more
- Sought out help from a nutrition coach to get my macros right
- Stopped dieting and focused on proper nutrition to reach my goals
Remember, everyone’s journey will look different. Genetics, diet and exercise routine and just overall body composition will play into how someone you might be comparing yourself online to looks vs. how you look.
