These are crazy times we are living in. And while at times I’ve felt this immense amount of pressure to be productive, to be doing more or to maximize this time at home … I’ll be honest, I can’t do that consistently. I can’t do it consistently and maintain my mental health. That’s where learning to give myself grace has come in.
It took me a few weeks to come to grips with the fact that everyone is responding to this pandemic differently. Some are being extremely creative, whether it be on social media or in the lesson plans they are creating for their children … you name it, I’ve definitely felt inferior at times because I don’t want to do those things nor do I feel like doing anything extra right now.
I’m here to tell you … IT’S OKAY!
Today we’re chatting through 3 ways to give yourself more GRACE! We all need it. Hell, sometimes I need a triple dose. 😉
3 Ways To Give Yourself More Grace
- Acknowledge what you ARE doing vs. what you aren’t.
- Celebrate every win, even the ones that feel small.
- Remember the internet always puts up it’s best self. Try not to compare yourself to false realities.
It’s easy to get wrapped up in all the things we aren’t doing and forget about all the amazing things we ARE doing! Many of us have never lived through something like this and it is perfectly okay to not be okay.
I’ve never worked full-time, homeschooled 2 children, been a mother and a wife simultaneously before. This is a whole new ball game for me and there are days when I fail miserably. But I go to bed knowing I did the best I could.
It’s never perfect and it certainly isn’t pretty, but grace is celebrating each day in spite of those things.
I hope each of you know that you’re doing a great job and I pray one day when my kids looks back on this time, they’ll remember all the fun they had and the things they got away with because their mom let loose a bit and stopped stressing over what wasn’t “perfect.”
