What’s In My Make-Up Bag?
A common question I get is “what do you pack” in your make-up bag for trips, so I wanted to share an updated post that features a few of my every day products at the moment.
Last week I was in New York City for 4 days, and this week I am in the city for 6 days, so it’s been a busy January so far! Thankfully, I’ve got my make-up bag down to a science.
When I travel, I pack only what I know I will use so that I do not weigh my bag down with unnecessary items. I used to be the person that overpacked for every trip! However, now that I travel for work I see the value in packing efficiently.

The products featured from “what’s in my make-up bag” are great for all women, and would especially work great for women of color! The number one question I get in terms of beauty is about products that work great for darker skin tones.
The key is understanding your skin type (oily, dry, combo) and choosing products that will work great for you. The next step is choosing a brand that is inclusive with their shade offerings. Beauty brands are getting better, but there is still room for improvement. If you are having trouble finding a good match for your skin, stop by your local Sephora or Ulta and get shade matched. This helped me know what type of products I should be shopping for.
