I just knew this post would be hilarious from the title. I am nowhere near marriage but I love your philosophy... more wine! Unfortunately, my Uncle passed a week ago and getting some of my relatives together can be a tiring task. I hope you have a wonderful time with your family. I live in Texas now myself.

These tips are both hilarious, and super helpful! One tip that I also follow when hosting anyone during the holidays or throwing a get together is to have emergency gifts in case someone unexpected shows up and brings gifts, so that you don't look unprepared or it is awkward! Easy gifts that anyone would enjoy like candles, tea, coffee, chocolates, restaurant gift cards...etc

haha number 4 is the best advice..I know that tension all too well when someone brings up something they really shouldn't. Also love the part about being true to yourself. I'm never going to have a spotless home, but we will have some darn tasty food and plenty of wine to go around :)
